What sort of work / modelling assignments does Source Models get?

We are a specialist photographic and commercial modelling agency, supplying models to casting directors, production companies, photographers and marketing departments all across London, the UK and overseas. Our models are all ages from 3 years and up and reflect a wide spectrum of different model ‘types’, ethnicities and ages.

How do I become a Source Model?

We take on models from 3 years old with no upper limit, and are always on the look-out for new faces, especially Character models with unusual features and/or skills. Our books are always open for the right people. Take a look through our site, at the models we currently represent, to see the diversity of people who are models. We receive over 100 applications a week to join our modelling agency so are unable to accept ‘walk-ins’, so if you are interested in joining Source Models we first ask you to submit up to 8 pictures via our online application form (follow this link). We aim to come back to everybody that applies. We will call you if we need to discuss your application further and talk through the next steps, failing that you should receive an e-mail from us within 14 days.

How does my child become a Source Model?

We take on child models from 3 years old to teenagers and represent a carefully selected group of children both male and female and from all ethnicities. The one distinctive factor about our child models is that they have that special ‘something’ that shines through in pictures. Take a look through our website at the child models we currently represent to get an idea of what we are looking for.

If you think your child has the personality and look to be a child model then please contact us for an initial chat or submit some information and up to 4 pictures via our online enquiry form (follow this link). We will come back to all applications within 14 days.

We don't believe kids need to spend hundreds of pounds on portfolios as long as they can provide good quality digital photos in a variety of poses. Remember to keep your child’s portfolio up to date, as a photo taken even just a few months before can look like a different child.

Do I need a portfolio?

For your first contact with us we just require up to 8 shots of you, to be sent via our online application form (follow this link if you are ready to contact us).

Every model eventually needs a portfolio, and as you get more experienced you will build a portfolio of 'work' which can be used to send to clients. You will start with a selection of different shots that can be shown to potential clients. It is very important to get the right shots that match the type of work you want. We are a specialist photographic and commercial model agency so working with us your portfolio will reflect that type of work.

Be wary of agencies that agree to take you on ONLY if you pay for a portfolio of pictures with them. We offer a commercial model portfolio service at Source Models, drawing on our years of experience to provide a service that offers good value for money and can, we believe, increase the number of castings and bookings a model can get. More information about this service can be found here. Be wary of agencies that agree to take you on ONLY if you pay for a portfolio of pictures with them. If you want to find your own photgrapher we would recommend having a look at www.themodelcamp.co.uk who we believe produce excellent commercial portfolios.

Will you charge me to join Source Models?

No! Source Models do not charge models for joining our modelling agency. We take a commission from each job, details of which will be available to you in our model terms. We do charge web fees of £50.00, which is taken in 2 instalments from the first 2 paid jobs and allows for unlimited resizing of pictures for as long as you are with us.

Another ‘agency’ asked me for money ‘up-front’ what should I do? / Scams

In our experience reputable agencies do not charge joining fees; we would be very wary of any agency that charges fees up-front. And be very wary of agencies that agree to take you on ONLY if you pay for a portfolio of pictures with them, the chances are that (a set of photos) is all you will get.

There a lot of scams in the modelling world most of which can be avoided with a degree of common sense. Most companies that charge up-front fees should be avoided, at the very least ask what you get in return and ask WHY they charge. Don't hand over any money in Hotels or Shopping Centre’s to so-called 'agencies' that take a few photos with promises of work. Chances are you will never hear from them again. If in doubt feel free to give us a call, we will always try to give you advice based on our many years of experience!

Source Models are not affiliated with any other agency or photographers.
