Gill started modelling part time at school at 16 years old when an agency approached her to work for them. After school Gill continued modelling full time for G3 Model Agency in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The work was varied and included photographic fashion shoots, catwalk shows, film and TV commercials including a long running “Baileys” TV and cinema advertising campaign. It was interesting working in South Africa as she travelled to very exotic locations in and around Southern Africa such as Lake Malawi; Mauritius and Seychelles, however when Era Model Agency approached me to sign a contract in Japan Gill was ready for a move and had a year of very busy and lucrative months modelling in Tokyo. From there I was also booked for fashion shoots in Hong Kong; Taiwan and Singapore.
In 1984 Gill retired from modelling to have children and shortly afterwards moved with her husband and young family to London. After bringing up children and working part time for several years she decided to return to modelling. Gill entered and won the “Classic” division of Topmodel UK competition in London in 2010 and have since been working as a “classic” model.
She is happy to be back in the modelling world as she loves the variety of work and the people one meets. When not working Gill enjoys the outdoors, walking or jogging with her dogs, swimming, tennis and pilates.
