Mitchel Barrett has had a very successful career as an International fashion model spanning fifteen years.
1982: fashion model in Manchester. Catalogue work for Littlewoods, Grattons, Freemans.
1983 – 1996: Milan: Italian Vogue for Giorgio Armani, Linea Uomo for Gian Marco Venturi, and Harpars Bazaar for Gian Franco Ferre. With representation from Sarah Doukas at Lorraine Ashton in London and then Select, during that time worked in Paris for Elle magazine, photographed by Paolo Roversi. Magazines, advertising and campaigns in London, Milan, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Tokyo, Sydney. Advertising included Asahi beer, Japan, Murphys beer, Ireland, and Burger King, Germany. Catwalk in Milan, Tokyo, Sydney, and in the U.K. for the English Menswear Collection.
TV commercials: leading roles included Burger King, Germany, Lipton Tea and Rapport Aftershave, Australia and Jockey Underwear, Thailand.
1997 – 2000: studied screenwriting and directing in film at BA level.
Mitchel Barrett has been an artist since his youth, with first exhibition in 1988. His paintings have been exhibited worldwide and sold to established art collectors in England, France, Austria, Germany, Japan, Thailand, USA and Canada.
His experience in martial arts began as a teenager and in the past few years has continued with Jeet Kune Do.
