Karen has been fully trained in fashion and photographic makeup, having been trained by Jemma Kidd School and Ash Kumar Academy, amongst others, and also in airbrush makeup by John Woodbridge, Woodbridge Productions at Pinewood Studios. She originally trained as a fashion stylist and it was during this training that she discovered a talent for makeup application.
She has extensive experience of providing makeup for fashion shows, photo shoots, tv work, makeovers, individual consultants and makeup lessons. She also has a good knowledge of hairstyling having attended courses at SAKS, The Makeup School and Balmain Hair, current makeup trends and the ability to create the season’s top looks.
One of the most enjoyable aspects to the work is working on fashion shows. Karen has the ability to work well under pressure, often solely responsible for providing the makeup for several models at any given time, she is approachable and reliable. Karen works with several fashion photographers in the studio and on location on a regular basis and loves the photo shoot environment.
Karen continues to keep updated with an ever changing industry and continues to update her skills regularly. She hopes to expand her skills and experience within the film industry in the near future by training with Greasepaint.
